Books for the beginning of the year

At the beginning of the school year, I always do a theme focusing on friendship (and welcoming everyone to the class).  Here are a few of the books that we have read so far this year!

I love Splat. This is a great one to read, especially with younger students (my pre-k students loved this book).

Everyone always loves Curious George. We read this book on the first day of school and many of the students were excited because they knew who Curious George was.

If you have not read this book (or the others about Nellie Sue), you need to add it to your collection. This is a great book about making new friends at school.
